    Description

    The Watchguard Firebox v60 10/100 mbs 6 port firewall appliance is an enterprise-grade firewall intended to protect your network from outside attacks.
    This model is no longer supported by Watchguard. However, it is still functional and can be given an open source firewall operating system such as mOnOwall (http://m0n0.ch/wall/tools/How%20to%20load%20m0n0wall%20onto%20a%20WatchGuard%20Firebox%20x500.pdf). The original OS was RedHat Linux so there sould be minimal troulble with the switch.
    A plus for this device is that the software runs off of a compact memory card (see last photo in gallery). This means there is no expensive hard disk to replace, and changes to the operating system can be made with a card swap.

    We connected to each Ethernet port on the device and they were operational. We did connect through the ports to an external router and the router DHCP logs showed this unit communicating. To access the management interface requires a CD from the manufacturer which is not available.
